There are infinite reasons we seek therapy. You may find yourself disconnected from your relationships and exhausted by not feeling seen, heard, and understood. You may feel pressure to be a perfect person, partner and parent, or struggling to name your feelings or needs in your relationships. As parents, navigating both the joys and the inevitable moments of stress, anxiety, and overwhelm isn’t easy. I hope to accompany you alongside your journey, and where we go will center around your hopes, goals, and intersectional identities. Together, we can explore relationship and attachment patterns, and deconstruct problem narratives and oppressions that show up in our lives as overwhelm, stuckness, and shame. I strive to co-create an attuned, connected, and safe space. When we allow the unfolding of emotional experiences, it can lead us to the emergence of a deeper understanding of yourself, self-acceptance, and connecting to the power and participation you have in relationships.
I specialize in providing LGBTQIA+ affirmative therapy with teens, adults, and couples/relationship partners who are exploring their sexuality, gender, and relationship-expansive (kink, poly, ENM) identities. I love working with couples/relationship partners, and as a queer parent, I am especially passionate about working with LGBTQIA+ people navigating parenthood. Many people I have experience working with express themselves creatively through art, dance, music, and writing.
I take a collaborative, non-judgmental, and non-pathologizing stance that sees you as the expert of your life. I approach therapy through a relational, psychodynamic lens that integrates feminist, narrative, and somatic therapies. With couples/relationship therapy, I work through an attachment lens (Emotionally Focused Therapy). I understand how vulnerable it can feel to open ourselves up in our relationships, including therapy, and I am committed to meeting my clients with curiosity, connection, and warmth. I hope to support you in your journey and welcome an opportunity to discuss how we might work together.
